Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-23-2022

The Minnesota Timberwolves look to bounce back from their first loss of the season as they travel to Oklahoma City to face the Thunder on Sunday. The Timberwolves are 1-1 on the season while the Thunder are playing the back half of a back to back after playing at Denver Saturday night. Minnesota went 4-0 against the Thunder last season and won the season opener this season against them. Can they keep that streak alive?

Hopes are high for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season. In the offseason, they added multiple time Defensive Player of the Year and multiple time all-star Rudy Gobert to a team that made it to the playoffs last season. The sky is the limit for this Timberwolves team, as a top three seed in the Western Conference is definitely in play. They started off the season in impressive fashion, beating this same Oklahoma City team in their season opener, 115-108 on Wednesday at home. But they did not cover as an 11 point favorite.

On Friday night, they hosted Gobert's former team, the Utah Jazz, and suffered a shocking upset, losing 132-126 in overtime. The Jazz are expected to be one of the worst teams in the NBA this season as they traded away their two stars, Gobert and Donovan Mitchell as they look to rebuild. Utah was on fore from three, making 20 of 50, and that proved to be the difference. The Jazz also had a ridiculous 39 assists in the game. Gobert had a monster game against his former team with 9 points and a ridiculous 23 rebounds. Anthony Edwards led the offense with 30 points, while Karl Anthony Towns had 27 and D'Angelo Russell chucked in 23 points with 7 assists.
