The San Antonio Spurs travel to the Wells Fargo Center to battle the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.
The San Antonio Spurs will be looking to stay hot after outlasting the Pacers in a 137-134 road win last night. Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell each scored 23 points, Josh Richardson led the team in scoring with 27 points on eight of 13 shooting off the bench while Jakob Poeltl chipped in with 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Spurs shot 54 percent from the field and 17 of 31 from the 3-point line as they dominated the first half to build an early 21-point lead which proved to be just enough in the end as the Pacers rallied with 49 points in a sketchy fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat to start the season after coming up painfully short to the Bucks in a 90-88 home loss on Thursday. James Harden led the team in scoring with 31 points, eight rebounds and nine assists, while Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid each scored 15 points, but no other player scored more than nine points. As a team, the 76ers shot just 43 percent from the field and a miserly five of 24 from the 3-point line which was good enough to hang with the Bucks until 23.8 seconds remaining where the Bucks’ Wesley Matthews drained the go-ahead shot.
