The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers face off on Sunday in a Week 7 NFL showdown at Levi Stadium. When these two teams faced off in February of 2020 it was the Chiefs that secured the 31-20 victory.
The Chiefs come into this game with a 4-2 record overall, but they are coming off a loss against the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs were outscored 7-3 in the 4th quarter, and that led to the four-point defeat. Patrick Mahomes completed 25 of his 40 passes for 338 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. The Chiefs offense overall is averaging 29.8 points per game which is the best in the league. The defense has been the issue and is ranked 24th in the league. In this game, the Chiefs defense needs to be good.
On the other side of this matchup is the 49ers who sit with a 3-3 record overall but they are coming off a bad loss in the last game. The 49ers only scored 14 points against the Atlanta Falcons and that led to the 14-point defeat. Jimmy Garoppolo completed 29 of his 41 passes for 296 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. The 49ers defense has been good, but the offense has been an issue averaging only 20.3 points per game. The team did make a big trade for Christian McCaffrey and it’s expected he’s going to play in this game, although it’s unclear how many snaps they plan on letting him get.
