The Bears come into this matchup with a struggling offense and a three-game losing streak. New head coach Matt Eburflus continues to try and impart his style into a team that continues to labor on the offensive end. Last Thursday, against the Washington Commanders, the Bears scored just seven points and were stopped on the goal line in the closing moments after quarterback Justin Fields had run to the five yard line to set his team up with under a minute to go.

“We always get told that we're almost there, we're almost there,” Fields said. “Me personally, I'm tired of being almost there. I'm tired of being just this close. I feel like I've been hearing it for so long now.”

Fields was repeatedly hit hard in the game as the Bears continue to struggle with a banged up offensive line. Fields finished the game 14-of-27 for just 190 yards. He threw one touchdown and was picked off o nce in the game as well. Fields also led the Bears in rushing with 12 carries for 88 yards. Second-year wide receiver Darnell Mooney had a good day with seven catches but was unable to hold onto Fields' final throw at the goal line. The Bears offense finished with 391 yards of total offense including 237 yards on the ground. The Bears finished the game 5-of-13 on third down conversions and just 1-of-4 on fourth down. They had two turnovers in the game, a Fields' interception and a costly fumble on a punt return that resulted in a Commanders' touchdown.

On the defensive end, the Bears held Washington to just 214 total yards for just 4.0 yards per play. Washington was just 2-of-11 on third down conversions against the stout Bears defense. The Bears had three sacks and three quarterback hits in the game and had three tackles for loss. The Bears were unable to create any turnovers in the game.

The Bears offense has been terrible this season as they have struggled with an inexperienced offensive line and a young receiver group. Chicago has the 31st ranked scoring offense in the NFL thus far this season. They are the #2 ranked rushing offense but are dead last in passing offense. In the red zone, the Bears are equally inept, ranking 28th in the league in red zone offensive efficiency. The Bears defense has performed much better this season with the league's 11th ranked scoring defense. They have been dismal against the run, however, ranking 29th in the NFL stopping the run. The Bears are 3rd against the pass and have the 22nd red zone defense in the NFL.

Key Injuries: The Bears offensive line continues to be banged up. Cody Whitehair remains on IL and Doug Kramer is questionable with an ankle injury.
