The Miami Heat play host to the Boston Celtics at the FTX Arena on Friday night.
The Boston Celtics will be looking to stay hot after blowing past the 76ers in a 126-117 home win on Tuesday. Jayson Tatum led the team with 35 points, 12 rebounds and four assists on 13 of 20 shooting, Jaylen Brown added 35 points on 14 of 24 shooting while Malcolm Brogdon chipped in with 16 points on seven of 11 shooting off the bench. As a team, the Celtics shot a sizzling 56 percent from the field and 12 of 35 from the 3-point line as they withstood an early run from the 76ers to draw the game at halftime, before they poured in 35 points in the third quarter to pull away behind a scoring flurry from Tatum and Brown.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat will be hoping to bounce back after coming up short against the shorthanded Bulls in a 116-108 home loss on Wednesday. Jimmy Butler led the team with 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists, Tyler Herro added 23 points while Max Strus provided the spark off the bench with 22 points on seven of nine shooting. As a team, the Heat shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 28 from the 3-point line as they jumped out to an early lead, but they couldn’t find an answer for the Bulls’ DeMar DeRozan who torched them for a game-high 37 points. Bam Adebayo got off to a slow start and finished with just 12 points while Kyle Lowry scored just two points on one of seven shooting.
