The Orlando Magic and the Atlanta Hawks do battle at the State Farm Arena on Friday night.
The Orlando Magic will be hoping to bounce back after coming up just short against the Pistons in a 113-109 road loss on Wednesday. Paolo Banchero led the team with 27 points, nine rebounds and five assists, Jalen Suggs added 21 points on eight of 11 shooting while Franz Wagner chipped in with 20 points and five assists. As a team, the Magic shot 48 percent from the field and 11 of 30 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start and built an early 15-point lead, but they mentally switched off and found themselves behind at halftime after leaking 40 points in the second quarter. Despite blowing the early lead, the Magic rallied in the fourth quarter to make it interesting late, but they didn’t get enough from their reserves as Chuma Okeke, Caleb Houstan and Mo Bamba shot a combined zero of 11 from the field.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks will be eager to stay hot after taking down the Rockets in a 117-107 home win on Wednesday. John Collins led the team in scoring with 24 points on nine of 12 shooting, Trae Young added 23 points with 13 assists, De’Andre Hunter scored 22 points while Dejounte Murray tallied 20 points with 11 assists and five steals. As a team, the Hawks shot 50 percent from the field and seven of 25 from the 3-point line as they held the Rockets to just 20 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, before exploding for 33 points in the fourth quarter to win comfortably in the end.
