Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-23-2022

Detroit will try to pick up its first road win of the season when it travels to Dallas on Sunday afternoon. The Lions are on a three-game losing streak, including a 29-0 final at New England in their last game. Dallas had its four-game winning streak snapped in a 26-17 loss to the Eagles last week.

Detroit entered the season with low expectations, and the Lions have done nothing to prove otherwise thus far. Their lone win came at home against Washington in Week 2, but they have lost three straight games since then. They played a pair of close games against Minnesota and Seattle before getting blown out in a 29-0 final at New England in their last game. Detroit had five possessions end in turnover on downs while two others ended on turnovers. Quarterback Jared Goff completed just 19 of 35 passes for 229 yards after throwing for 378 yards in a 48-45 loss to Seattle the week prior.

The Lions still rank second in the NFL offensively, averaging 411.8 yards per game. Goff has completed 59.7% of his passes for 1,355 yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions. Running back D’Andre Swift has missed two straight games due to an ankle and shoulder injury. He averaged 8.6 yards per game during his first three games and is officially questionable to play on Sunday. Swift told the Detroit Free Press that he is “pushing towards” playing in this game. Backup running back Jamaal Williams has rushed for 332 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 4.3 yards per carry. He is facing a Dallas defense that ranks eighth in the NFL, allowing 304.2 yards per game. Star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was not at 100% against New England (ankle), but he is not on the injury report this week.
