Winnipeg Jets vs. Vegas Golden Knights Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-20-2022

Winnipeg Jets (1-1-0) vs. Vegas Golden Knights (3-1-0)

The NHL betting action goes on with a 12-game Thursday card and brings the Western Conference clash from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the Winnipeg Jets and Vegas Golden Knights face off for the first time in 2022-23.

The Jets and Golden Knights start a three-game regular-season series, and Winnipeg aims for its sixth straight victory over Vegas. The Golden Knights are listed as -140 moneyline favorites, while the totals sit at 6.5 goals.

Wednesday night’s games have been excluded from the analysis, and the Winnipeg Jets visited the Colorado Avalanche as huge +200 moneyline dogs. They were looking to bounce back from a 4-1 defeat at the Dallas Stars last Monday. The Jets started their 2022-23 campaign with a nice 4-1 home win against the New York Rangers, but they got outplayed by the Stars, who allowed just 25 shots while erasing an early deficit.

The Jets are still without their head coach, as Rick Bowness is recovering from COVID-19. Scott Arniel will continue to run the bench, and it’s still unknown who’ll patrol the crease Thursday at T-Mobile Arena. Connor Hellebuyck was confirmed for Wednesday’s game at Colorado, so David Rittich might make his Jets debut Thursday against Vegas.

Hellebuyck posted 40 saves against the Rangers in a season opener but yielded four goals on 29 shots against the Stars. He went 3-0-0 with a 2.32 GAA and .944 save percentage versus Vegas in 2021-22. Rittich made 12 starts and five relief appearances for the Nashville Predators this past regular season, tallying a 6-3-4 record, 3.57 GAA, and .886 SV%.
