Orlando Magic at Detroit Pistons – 10/19/22 NBA Picks and Prediction

The Orlando Magic and the Detroit Pistons duke it out at Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday night.

The Orlando Magic finished last season with just 22 wins, most of which were blowouts as they struggled for scoring with Jalen Suggs battling injuries throughout his entire rookie season. Cole Anthony led the team with averages of 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game, Franz Wagner averaged 15.2 points and 4.5 rebounds while Wendell Carter Jr. averaged 15.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. As a team, the Magic scored just 104.2 points per game while shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 33.1 percent from the 3-point line.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons are coming into this season fresh off another rebuilding year and the sky is the limit for a team that won just 23 games to finish second last in the Eastern Conference. Jerami Grant was the leading scorer for the team as he averaged 19.2 points, but he played just 47 games as he was traded to the Portland Trailblazers. Cade Cunningham picked up the slack and led the way with averages of 17.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game, Saddiq Bey played all 82 games and averaged 16.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while Hamidou Diallo averaged 11.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. As a team, the Pistons scored an average of 104.8 points per game while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from the 3-point line.
