The Houston Cougars (3-3) face a fellow AAC foe when they visit the Navy Midshipmen (2-4) on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
The Cougars took on the Memphis Tigers in their last game, winning 33-32. Their last time out, the Midshipmen lost 40-34 to the SMU Mustangs. Tai Lavatai threw for 138 yards for the Midshipmen against the Mustangs, going 9-for-21 (42.9%) with two touchdowns and one interception. He added 25 carries for 120 yards and two touchdowns. In that matchup, Maquel Haywood had an eight-carry, 95-yard game (11.9 yards per attempt). He also added one reception for seven yards . Jayden Umbarger recorded 59 yards through the air after five catches (on nine targets), with one touchdown.
