The Anaheim Ducks face the New York Rangers with both teams looking to start the season strong. The Ducks have split their first two games and hope to rebound from a six-goal defeat while the Rangers won their first two games but are looking to rebound from a rough loss on the road. Both teams are hoping to erase the memory of their recent games and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Ducks are off to a promising start to the season with their offense in particular scoring five goals in their opening night win and 3.00 goals per game within the first two games. Troy Terry and Trevor Zegras have scored four goals and two assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Ryan Strome and defenseman John Klingberg have combined for one goal and four assists while Frank Vatrano and 20-year-old forward Mason McTavish have added a goal and two assists to add depth to the forward unit to help round out the Ducks' offense.

The offense has looked promising but the defense has been awful to start the season, allowing 11 goals in two games including seven goals in their recent loss. John Klingberg and Cam Fowler have led the top two pairings but the rest of the defense has struggled and allowed opponents to find open shots on the net at will. Moreover , starting goaltender John Gibson has struggled in the net, allowing nine goals on 75 shots, and looks to step up in the upcoming game.
