A pair of AFC West opponents take the field to close out week 6 of the NFL schedule with a primetime tilt in the Golden State. The Denver Broncos are on the road as they make the trip to face the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football. Denver comes in off a 12-9 overtime loss at home against Indianapolis in their previous contest, which was Thursday Night Football on October 6. Los Angeles managed to escape with a 30-28 road victory over Cleveland in their previous contest last Sunday. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Broncos own a 69-54-1 advantage though the teams have split the last four meetings. Last season, the Broncos prevailed 28-13 at home in the first meeting on November 28, 2021 before the Chargers took a 34-13 home win in the most recent matchup on January 2, 2022.

Denver had their chances to put Indianapolis away at home in their previous contest but found ways to blow it before losing in overtime. The Broncos fell to 2-3 on the season and stand third in the AFC West as they hope to get back to the .500 mark on the season. Against Indianapolis, Denver led 9-6 late in the fourth quarter and were in chip shot field goal range only to have Russell Wilson throw an interception in the end zone. The Colts drove the field to hit the tying field goal with five seconds remaining in regulation. In overtime, after giving up a field goal, Denver drove 70 yards in six plays only to have Wilson throw incomplete on fourth and 1 from the Colts’ five-yard line to end the game. The Broncos held a 375-306 edge in total offense though they lost the first down battle 19-18 and the time of possession by a 34:36 to 32:51 margin. Both teams turned the ball over twice in the contest.
