The Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at Capital One Arena.
There are a ton of questions surrounding the Montreal Canadiens for this season, but they looked good in the first game of the season. The Canadiens faced off against the Toronto Maple Leafs and they scored four goals, that led to the one goal victory. Cole Caufield had a big game finishing with five shots on goal and two goals. Nick Suzuki also finished with two assists and two shots on goal. In goal for Montreal was Jake Allen and he finished with 29 saves on 32 shots. In this game, Montreal is going to need to have good goaltending, and take the pressure off the offense.
On the other side of this matchup is the Capitals who sit with an 0-2 record to start the season and this is a big early season game. Washington lost to Boston 5-2 in the first game and in the last game against the Toronto Maple Leafs they lost 3-2. Nic Dowd and Marcus Johannson were the two goal-scorers in the last game. John Carlson had three shots on goal, but couldn’t find the back of the net. Charlie Lindgren was in goal in the last game and he saved 36 of the 39 shots that he faced.
