The Columbus Blue Jackets and St. Louis Blues face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at the Enterprise Center. When these two teams faced off on October 6th it was the Blue Jackets that secured the 7-0 victory.
Heading into the game on Friday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Blue Jackets had an 0-1 record. In the last game against the Carolina Hurricanes, the defense really struggled giving up four goals and that led to the three-goal defeat. Patrik Laine was the top player in the first game scoring one goal and finishing with two shots on goal. Laine did get banged up in the game though and it’s not expected that he can’t go. Goalie Daniel Tarasov faced 43 shots and he made 39 saves.
On the other side of this matchup is the St. Louis Blues who will be playing their first game of the season on Saturday. In the last game of the preseason against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Blues scored six goals, and that led to an easy victory. Ivan Barbashev had a big game finishing with two goals and three shots on goal. Jordan Kyrou also finished with one goal and one assist. Jordan Binnington had a big game facing 24 shots and stopping all 24 shots. In this game, if the Blues get goaltending, they will be in good shape to secure the victory.
