The Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at the SAP Center.
The Blackhawks have played two games so far this season and they have struggled in each of the games. In the first game, they lost to the Colorado Avalanche 5-2 and in the last game, they lost to the Vegas Golden Knights 1-0. Against the Golden Knights the defense actually really looked good, but the offense couldn’t get anything going. They finished with 27 shots on goal, but they didn’t find the back of the net. In Game 1 it was Max Domi and Jonathan Toews that scored the goals. In this game, they need good goaltending, but the offense needs to get going here.
On the other side of this matchup is the Sharks who have played two games so far this season, and they lost each of the games. They also played a game on Friday night against the Carolina Hurricanes. In the last game against Nashville Predators, they actually scored the first goal, but they gave up three goals in the second period and that led to the defeat. Mario Ferraro played well finishing with two assists and two shots on goal. In goal for the Sharks was Kaapo Kahkonen and he stopped 15 of the 18 shots. In this game the Sharks are going to need better goaltending.
