The Blue Jackets made the splash of the offseason with the signing of Johnny Gaudreau. Despite all the excitement, they also dropped their season opener. They lost 4-1 to the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday. The Jackets' only goal came from Patrik Laine, who the team announced yesterday they'll be without for at least a few weeks due to an upper-body injury.
