Tulane vs. South Florida (USF) Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-15-2022

The Tulane Green Wave (5-1, 5-1 ATS, 1-5 O/U) meet with the South Florida Bulls (1-5, 2-4 ATS, 4-2 O/U)  in an AAC showdown on Saturday afternoon. The Green Wave recorded a dominating home win against East Carolina last week. The Bulls' struggles continued in a road loss to Cincinnati. Tulane clobbered USF by a 45-14 score last season.

The Tulane Green Wave have been nearly perfect this season. The only loss was a surprising 27-24 road blemish against Southern Mississippi in week four. They stunned Houston in their ACC opener with an OT victory and were tabbed narrow 2.5-point dogs in a 24-9 home win against East Carolina last week. They have been a reliable squad to back, covering the spread five of their six games on the season.

Michael Pratt missed the game against Houston and returned last week, accumulating 326 passing yards. The junior QB is having an outstanding season, amassing 1231 passing yards accompanied by a 9:3 TD to INT ratio. Tulane will run plenty. They are led by Tyjae Spears. The junior RB has surpassed 100 rushing yards once this season and is up to 312 rushing yards on 4 yards per carry.

The unit has a loaded receiving core. Shae Wyatt made five catches last week and has taken the team lead with 265 yards while Duece Watts has brought in 247 receiving yards. The Tulane offense won’t dazzle with a ton of points considering they have a slower offensive pace but are efficient.

The Green Wave defense is their top strength. They limited a potent Houston offense to only  21 points before overtime and while they gave up 419 total yards against ECU last week, they limited them to just nine points. The pass defense is elite, ranking 4th in the FBS while the rush defense is also solid, marking 55th. Tulane is scoring an average of 31 points, landing them 62nd. The defense is limiting opponents to only 13.3 points good for seventh in the FBS.
