The Seattle Kraken open up their season in Anaheim against the Ducks on Wednesday. Seattle finished last season 27-49-6 which was last in the Pacific Division. The Kraken enter this season without naming a team captain. Seattle is looking for right winger Jordan Eberle to have a big season. Eberle scored 21 goals last season and had 23 assists.
Philipp Grubauer will make the start between the pipes for the Seattle Kraken. Grubauer allowed 4 goals on 39 shots in his last preseason game against'the Oilers. Grubauer went 18-31-5 last season with a 3.16 goals against average.
The Anaheim Ducks finished last season 31-37-14 on the season and one spot ahead'of the Kraken in the Pacific'Division. Anaheim hopes that left winger Max Jones brings his offensive momentum into the season. Jones had 11 shots on goal and 3 goals in the Ducks last two preseason games. Jones was a 1st round pick by Anaheim back in the 2016 draft. The Ducks begin a new era as their captain'Ryan Getzlaf has retired.
