The West Virginia Mountaineers (2-3, 1-1) will host the Baylor Bears (3-2, 1-1) on Thursday night in a Big 12 conference matchup. Both of these teams are 3-2 against the spread and the over/under is 3-2 in their games this year.  Last season Baylor beat West Virginia 45-20 as a one-point home favorite.

In non-conference play this season, Baylor beat Albany 69-10, lost to BYU 26-20, and then beat Texas State 42-7. In the preseason Big 12 media conference poll, the Bears were voted as the favorite. On the field, Baylor opened up conference play by going on the road and beating Iowa State 31-24 on Sept. 24 but lost 36-25 at home to Oklahoma State on October 1. Iowa State was selected sixth, and Oklahoma State was picked third in the conference preseason poll.

On the season, the Bears are 37th averaging 188.2 rushing yards per game, led by Richard Reese with 400 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 5.6 yards per attempt. The passing attack is 75th with 248.4 passing yards per game, led by Blake Shapen who has completed 69.3% of his passes for nine touchdowns and three interceptions.

Defensively the Bears are 24th in total defense. They are 17th holding opponents to 96.8 rushing yards per game, and 60th allowing just 223.2 passing yards per game. They also have 10 sacks led by linebacker Bryson Jackson with two and three interceptions, led by safety Christian Morgan with two.
