These two teams are obviously not strangers to one another. Playing in the same division has caused the Dodgers and Padres to meet up 51 times o ver the last three seasons. Los Angeles owns a 35-16 record in those head-to-head meetings, making it hard to go against the NL's best team in this series.
Clayton Kershaw has posted a 1-0 record and a 0.75 ERA against the Padres this season, while Julio Urias has logged a 3-0 record with a 1.50 ERA in the rivalry this year. Their dominance will give the Dodgers a huge advantage in the first two games and an opportunity to grab a commanding lead right away.
