The Baylor Bears (3-2) square off against a familiar opponent when they visit the West Virginia Mountaineers (2-3) on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium in a Big 12 battle.

The Bears enter the matchup after losing 36-25 to the Oklahoma State Cowboys in their last game on October 1. The Mountaineers’ last game was a 38-20 loss to the Texas Longhorns. Against the Cowboys, Blake Shapen led the Bears with 345 yards on 28-of-40 passing (70.0%) for two touchdowns and two interceptions. Richard Reese totaled 85 rushing yards on 17 carries (5.0 yards per carry), scoring one touchdown on the ground. He added four catches for 21 yards. Monaray Baldwin had 174 yards on seven catches (24.9 per reception) with two touchdowns in that game. JT Daniels totaled 253 passing yards while going 29-for-48 with one touchdown and no interceptions for the Mountaineers against the Longhorns. Justin Johnson Jr. carried the ball 10 times for 42 yards (4.2 yards per attempt) with one touchdown. In the passing game, he added one catch for three yards. Bryce Ford-Wheaton caught eight passes on 13 targets for 93 yards (11.6 yards per reception).

The Bears are the favorite (-2.5) in an expected tight matchup with the Mountaineers.
