San Jose Sharks at Nashville Predators – 10/7/22 NHL Picks and Prediction

The San Jose Sharks and Nashville Predators kick off the NHL season on Friday at the O2 Arena in Prague.

The San Jose Sharks have had a couple of down seasons but they hope that a new GM and coach will coach. David Quinn was once the 13th overall pick in the NHL draft, but he is now the head coach of the Sharks. The Sharks do have some top-end talent on this team including Erik Karlsson, Timo Meier, and  Logan Couture. All three players are going to need to have big seasons if this team wants any chance to exceed expectations. They also have a couple of young rookies in William Eklund and Thomas Bordeleau that will be counted on to have big games. Outside of those guys though, there are a ton of question marks that need to be answered and there might be some very large growing pains, especially early in the season. In goal is expected to be James Reimer and he at times can be good, but he has also been inconsistent.

On the other side of this matchup is the Predators who made the playoffs last year, but they again were knocked out early. Nashville finished with 97 points, but they were swept by the Colorado Avalanche. The Predators were busy this offseason and the big signing was Ryan McDonagh, and he should really help the defense. In goal, the Predators also have a star in Juuse Saros in goal. He played probably too many games last year, but he was so good, and behind him wasn’t a ton of talent.
