The Texas Tech Red Raiders and Oklahoma State Cowboys face off on Saturday in a Week 6 college football showdown at Boone Pickens Stadium. Last year it was Oklahoma State that secured the 23-0 victory over Texas Tech.
Texas Tech comes into this game with a 3-2 record overall but they are coming off a loss in their last game. Against Kansas State, the defense gave up 37 points and that led to the nine-point defeat. They gave up 17 points in the 4th quarter and they need to do a better job of closing out the game. Quarterback Donovan Smith completed 34 of his 48 passes for 359 yards. Two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Texas Tech is averaging 35 points while their defense is giving up 27.6 points per game.
On the other side of this matchup is Oklahoma State and they are coming off a big win in their last game over the Baylor Bears. At halftime, they were up 16-3 and they held on late to secure the 36-25 victory. Under center for Oklahoma State is Spencer Sanders and he completed 20 of his 39 passes for 181 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He was also the top rusher finishing with 14 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown. Dominic Richardson finished with 24 rushes for 73 yards. The Cowboys offense has been elite this season and they are averaging 47.8 points per game.
