San Francisco 49ers (2-2) vs. Carolina Panthers (1-3)
Week 5 of the 2022 NFL season continues Sunday, October 9, with the NFC showdown from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, so we bring you the best 49ers vs. Panthers betting pick and odds.
San Francisco meets Carolina for the first time since 2019 when the 49ers dismantled the Panthers 51-13 as 4-point home favorites. The Niners are 6.5-point road favorites this time around, while the Panthers sit at +235 moneyline odds with a total of 38.5 points.
The San Francisco 49ers improved to 2-2 straight up and ATS on the season following a 24-9 home victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4. The Niners tortured the reigning Super Bowl champions by the line of scrimmage and fully deserved to come out on top. San Francisco outgained the Rams 327-257 in total yards and won the turnover battle 2-0, while Talanoa Hufanga’s pick-six with 6:27 left to play in the fourth quarter sealed the victory.
“I was really happy overall, obviously with our whole team,” 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said. “It was a cool way to win. We knew it would be a battle, and to keep them out of the end zone was great. I thought our special teams played well.”

Deebo Samuel led the way for the Niners last weekend, accounting for 115 yards and a TD on six receptions. His 57-yard touchdown gave the 49ers a 14-6 lead just before halftime. Jimmy Garoppolo went 16-of-27 for 239 yards and a TD, while Jeff Wilson Jr. had 18 carries for 74 yards and a TD. Despite missing left tackle Trent Williams, San Francisco’s offensive line did an excellent job to slow down the Rams’ powerful defensive line.
Williams remains sidelined with an ankle injury, while OL Colton McKivitz joined him on the shelf with a knee injury. Defensive lineman Arik Armstead didn’t practice on Wednesday and is doubtful to play in Week 6.
