Tennessee vs. LSU Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-8-2022

This Saturday the (4-0) Tennessee Volunteers and the (4-1) LSU Tigers will matchup in the sixth week of the 2022 college football season. Kickoff will be at noon EST inside Tiger Stadium (LA). Both of these teams have started the year strong, as they are coming into this game after a big win.

The Tennessee Volunteers are coming into this one after taking down the Florida Gators. Tennessee's offense showed that they could consistently move the ball against an SEC opponent, as they ended up scoring 38 points. They will need their offense to stay humming if they want to challenge the Tigers on the road.

The LSU Tigers are entering this one after taking down Auburn, 21-17. The Tiger's defense showed that they were no joke, as they made it very difficult for Auburn to move the ball. They will need their defense to step up even more in this one if they want to continue this great start to the 2022 college football season.

The Tennessee Volunteers took down the Florida Gators, 38-33 in their last game, as they have started this season (4-0). They will now hit the road to take on the Tigers, as this will be their second SEC matchup of the season. On offense, Tennessee is scoring 48.5 points per game and averaging 559.3 yards. This is the third most points scored per game and the most yards averaged in the country. They have shown that they can consistently move the ball down the field, as they have multiple playmakers on this offense. Watch for Hendon Hooker at QB, as he has already thrown eight touchdowns this season and thrown for 1,193 yards. In their last game, he threw for 349 yards and two touchdowns. The Volunteers are also averaging 365.8 passing yards per game, which is the second most in the country. Jalin Hyatt has been their top receiver, as he has already recorded 325 yards and three touchdowns this season. He is also averaging 14.1 yards per catc h. Now, Tennessee has also shown that they can keep the ball on the ground. They are running for 193.5 yards per game, which is the 31st most in the nation. They can move the ball through the air or on the ground, as they have been extremely tough to stop.

Tennessee has shown that its defense is legit, as well. They are currently allowing 19 points per game and 407.3 yards. This is the 29th least amount of points surrendered per game and the 95th least amount of yards. They have been great against the run, but have struggled against the pass at different times. The Volunteers are surrendering 309.3 passing yards per game, which is the 128th most in the country. Against the run, the Volunteers have been much better. They are only surrendering 98 rushing yards per game, which is the 21st least in the nation. Watch for Aaron Beasley in this one, as the senior LB has been all over the field to begin the year. He currently leads the team with 26 tackles.

Injury Report: The Volunteers will be without Cedric Tillman in this game (Ankle). Dylan Sampson is listed questionable (Ankle).
