Auburn vs. Georgia Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-8-2022

The Auburn Tigers (3-2, 1-4 ATS, 2-3 O/U) collide with the #2 Georgia Bulldogs (5-0, 2-3 ATS, 0-4 O/U) in an SEC showdown on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers were dealt a narrow home loss by LSU last week. The Bulldogs avoided the upset with a road win at Missouri in their previous action. The Bulldogs defeated Auburn 34-10 last season.

The Auburn Tigers are on the road for the first time this season. They have been involved in several close games already including a 24-16 win against San Jose State and a 17-14 overtime victory against Missouri. The lone defeat was an ugly loss to Penn State. Last week, Auburn was labeled eight-point dogs in a 21-17 home loss to LSU. That was the only game they have covered so far.

T.J. Finley is dealing with a shoulder injury and did not play last week. The junior QB is questionable for this one. Robby Ashford was a bright spot in the loss to LSU, accumulating 337 passing yards. The freshman QB is now in the spotlight and has collected 709 passing yards and a 3:3 TD to INT ratio.

Auburn will use a few different RBs led by Tank Bigsby. The junior RB had 147 yards in the season opener and usually has 10-15 carries per gam e. He is up to 326 rushing yards on an average of 4.7 yards per rush. Ja’Varrius Johnson brought in 73 receiving yards last week. The junior WR leads the team with 305 receiving yards. The Auburn offense managed 438 total yards against LSU which is a metric to build on entering this game.

The Tigers' defense is solid. The unit has kept the team in the game in each bout with the exception of the blowout loss to Penn State. Last week, they limited LSU to only 270 total yards and rank 35th against the pass and 67th against the run. Auburn is scoring an average of 22.4 points, landing them 107th. The defense is conceding an average of 21.6 points, good for 45th.
