Buffalo vs. Bowling Green Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-8-2022

Buffalo will try to extend a two-game winning streak when it travels to Bowling Green on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls have won their first two MAC games of the season, beating Eastern Michigan and Miami (Ohio). Bowling Green opened the conference portion of its schedule with a 31-28 win over Akron last week.

Buffalo got off to a rough start to the season, losing each of its first three games. The Bulls covered the 24-point spread in a loss to Maryland before getting upset by Holy Cross as 6-point favorites. They came up short in a tough matchup against Coastal Carolina in Week 3 in a game that pushed the 12-point spread. Buffalo has refocused during MAC play, beginning with a 50-31 upset against Eastern Michigan as a 6-point underdog two weeks ago. The Bulls were able to build on that win with a 24-20 victory over Miami (Ohio) last week, covering the 3-point spread. They are one of three teams that have not lost a conference game in the MAC East, joining Kent State and Bowling Green.

The Bulls racked up 498 yards and scored on their first 10 possessions against Eastern Michigan two weeks ago. Their defense had their best showing of the year last week, holding Miami (Ohio) to 20 points. They are led by All-MAC nose tackle Daymond Williams, who has 2.5 sacks this year. All-conference linebacker James Patterson recently passed Khalil Mack on the program’s all-time tackles list and is an all-conference performer. Quarterback Cole Snyder has been sacked 11 times through five games, so that has been the biggest issue for the offense. He is facing a Bowling Green defense that is one of four in the FBS averaging at least four sacks per game. The Bulls used to be a run-heavy offense, but they are a more balanced team this year.
