The Brooklyn Nets entered last season as one of the favorites to lift the trophy, but in a year filled with turmoil, needed some luck to even make the playoffs where they were embarrassingly swept by the Boston Celtics.
Irving and Durant were both rumored to be on the chopping block, but both will start the year in Brooklyn, along with key acquisition Ben Simmons. The former 76er joined the Nets last season but did not take the court.
