Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-5-2022

Toronto will play the final game of the regular season when it wraps up a doubleheader with Baltimore on Wednesday afternoon. The Blue Jays are on a four-game winning streak after taking the series opener on Monday. They did not play Tuesday’s game with the Orioles due to weather, which is why Wednesday is a twin bill.

Toronto has already clinched its playoff spot as the top American League Wild Card team. The Blue Jays were unable to challenge New York for the AL East crown, but they will be back in the playoffs regardless. They are in solid form right now, having won seven of their last nine games. Toronto lost a pair of games to the Yankees last week before bouncing back with a series sweep against Boston last weekend. The Blue Jays opened this series with a 5-1 win at Baltimore on Monday and will play a pair of games with the Orioles on Wednesday following Tuesday’s postponement.

They have been the best offensive team in the majors this year, batting at a .263 clip. Shortstop Bo Bichette leads the way with 188 hits and 93 RBIs, while first baseman Vlad Guerrero Jr. has 173 hits. Bichette was one of several key players not in Tuesday’s starting lineup prior to the postponement, joining George Springer, Teoscar Hernandez, Matt Chapman and Alejandro Kirk. They are facing a Baltimore pitching staff that is No. 18 with an ERA of 3.97. There have not been any starting pitchers announced for the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader, as of late Tuesday night.
