Atlanta Braves vs. Miami Marlins Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-5-2022

The Atlanta Braves (101-60, 84-77 RL, 79-73-8 O/U) will finish the regular season on the road against the Miami Marlins (67-94, 78-82 RL, 68-84-8 O/U) on Wednesday afternoon. The Braves will likely send Max Fied to the mound. The Marlins will reply with Elieser Hernandez. The Braves lead the season series 13-5.

The Braves could have Max Fried on the hill in the finale. No starter has been announced as of Tuesday night but Fried would be on regular rest. He was stellar in his latest effort, limiting the rival Mets to just one run on four hits in five innings, and was credited with the win to bring his season record to 14-7. The veteran continues to excel, sporting a 2.00 ERA in September and has recorded a 2.48 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP in 185.1 innings pitched on the year. Fried has held the Marlins to just one run in 11 innings this season and features a 3-3 record and a weak 4.94 ERA in 58.1 career innings against the foes.

Atlanta has won the NL East again and there is no reason they can’t go all the way this year. The squad actually looks better than last year. The Braves enjoyed a dominant September losing just two series all month. They swept the Mets last weekend and are 8-2 in their last games.

Dansby Swanson was incredible against the Mets last weekend, launching one home run in all three games. The 28-year-old shortstop is enjoying another elite season, bashing 25 homers with 96 RBIs and a .781 OPS. Swanson has eight RBIs and a .674 OPS against the Marlins this season.

The Braves continue to hit several home runs and are averaging 4.86 runs, ranking them third. The pitching staff features a 3.42 team ERA, good for fifth in the big leagues.
