The San Jose State Spartans (3-1) meet a fellow MWC opponent when they host the UNLV Rebels (4-1) on Friday, October 7, 2022 at CEFCU Stadium.
The Spartans beat the Wyoming Cowboys 33-16 in their most recent game. The Rebels’ most recent game finished in a 31-20 win over the New Mexico Lobos. Against the Cowboys, Chevan Cordeiro led the Spartans with 314 yards on 21-of-37 passing (56.8%) for one touchdown and no interceptions. He also carried the ball 11 times for 24 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Kairee Robinson rushed for 102 yards on 20 carries (5.1 yards per carry) and one touchdown, adding one reception for five yards. Elijah Cooks led the receiving charge against the Cowboys, catching eight passes for 177 yards. Doug Brumfield went 24-for-33 with 233 yards, no touchdowns and one interception for the Rebels against the Lobos. He rushed eight times for 19 yards and one touchdown. Aidan Robbins put together a 23-carry, 79-yard game (3.4 yards per attempt) with one touchdown, while also adding three receptions for 23 yards . Senika McKie caught five passes for 72 yards (14.4 yards per catch).
The Rebels are 5.5-point underdogs against the Spartans (the game has an over/under of 50.5 points).
