The Rangers long and winding season is coming to a close as they get ready for their final six games of 2022. The team has had a tumultuous season, firing their manager and looking to new management to lead them back to what ownership hopes is a playoff contender going forward. On Thursday night at Seattle, the Rangers lost in 11-innings 10-9 in a slugfest.

After spending this past offseason loading up in free agency, including adding a high priced middle infield in second baseman Marcus Semian and shortstop Corey Seager, the Rangers might be more focused on their own free agent this offseason. Lefty starter Martin Perez was signed to a one-year deal and rewarded the Rangers with a career-year in leading the team in a majority of the team's pitching stats. Resigning the veteran will likely be the main priority of this offseason. On the mound on Friday night for Texas will be Glenn Otto. Otto is 0-1 in his last five starts with an ERA of 4.50. He has allowed 22 hits in 24 innings over those five starts while giving up five home runs. He is 1-0 against the Angels this season with a 4.50 ERA.
