Temple at Memphis – 10/1/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Temple Owls and Memphis Tigers face off on Saturday in a Week 5 college football showdown at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.

Temple comes into this game with a 2-2 record overall and they are coming off an impressive victory in the last game against UMass. The defense stepped up in a big way not giving up any points and that led to the 28-0 victory. Under center for Temple is E.J. Warner and in the last game he completed 11 of his 22 passes for 173 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Temple overall this season is averaging 18 points while their defense is giving up 15 points per game. One issue for Temple this season is they haven’t had a ton of success on the ground. The top rusher only has 116 yards on the ground, and they need a more balanced offense here in this game.

On the other side of this matchup is Memphis who sit with a 3-1 record overall and their only loss was against Mississippi State. In the last game against North Texas, Memphis put up 44 points and that was enough to win by 10 points. Under center for Memphis is Seth Henigan and in his last start he completed 19 of his 29 passes for 141 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Running back Brandon Thomas had a big game rushing 15 times for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Memphis on the season is averaging 37 points while their defense is giving up 32 points per game.
