On the other side of this matchup is New Mexico and they come into this game sitting with a 2-2 record. New Mexico’s two wins came over UTEP and Maine. The Maine win was expected, but against UTEP the defense locked down giving up only 10 points and that led to the 17-point victory. In the last game against LSU, the offense couldn’t get anything going, and the defense gave up 38 points on the way to the defeat. Miles Kendrick completed 5 of his 7 passes for 47 yards. New Mexico is averaging 20.5 points while their defense is giving up 19.8 points per game.
