The Miami Marlins and New York Mets face off on Wednesday in an MLB showdown at Citi Field. On Tuesday it was the Marlins that were able to secure the 6-4 victory.
The Mets sit with a 97-58 record overall but they can’t be losing these games against teams like the Marlins if they want to win the division. The Mets this season are averaging 4.77 runs per game which is 4th in the league. The pitching is also ranked 5th in the league. On the other side of this matchup is the Marlins who sit with a 64-90 record overall but they have won three of their last four games. During the three wins the Marlins gave up only seven runs total. The Marlins offense hasn’t been good enough and is currently averaging 3.59 runs per game and that is 28th in the league. Jesus Aguliar has hit 15 home runs and driven in 49 RBIs.
