The No. 4 Penn State Nittany Lions (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) take a trip to the West Coast to visit the USC Trojans (3-2, 1-2) Saturday. Penn State hits the road after 4 consecutive home games. The Nittany Lions beat the UCLA Bruins 27-11 Saturday but failed to cover as 29.5-point favorites. QB Drew Allar completed 17 of his 24 passes for 237 yards with a TD and no picks. He added a rushing touchdown, too. The Nittany Lions have allowed just 18 points over their last 3 games, which included a 56-0 shutout of Kent State Sept. 21.

USC was upset 24-17 by the Minnesota Golden Gophers Saturday in Minneapolis as a 9.5-point favorite. USC led 17-10 midway in the 3rd quarter, but Minnesota scored 2 TDs in the 4th, including a game-winning 1-yard run with 56 seconds remaining to cap a 12-play, 75-yard drive. The Trojans edged the Gophers 373-362 in total yards, but 3 turnovers to Minnesota’s 1 was too much to overcome.
