Stanford at Washington – 9/24/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Stanford Cardinal and Washington Huskies face off on Saturday in a Week 4 college football showdown at Husky Stadium. 

Stanford has played only two games this season and they sit with a 1-1 record. Stanford opened up the season with a 41-10 victory over Colgate, but they followed that up with a 41-28 defeat at the hands of USC. At the end of the first quarter, they were down 21-7 and they never were able to recover. Under center for Stanford is Tanner McKee and he completed 20 of his 35 passes for 220 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. EJ Smith finished with 19 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown. The defense allowed four touchdowns through the air, and in this game, the defense is going to need to be better. If the defense struggles, Stanford is going to be in for another long game.

On the other side of this matchup is the Washington Huskies who are one of the most surprising teams in all of college football sitting with a 3-0 record. Washington has wins over Kent State, Portland State, and Michigan State. At halftime, Washington was up 29-8 over Michigan State, and they held on for the 39-28 victory. Michael Penix Jr had a big game completing 24 of his 40 passes for 397 yards and four touchdowns. Penix Jr is having a huge season, and they are going to need to have another big game out of him here. Cameron Davis also had a big game finishing with 17 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown.
