Notre Dame at North Carolina – 9/24/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and North Carolina Tar Heels face off on Saturday in a Week 4 college football showdown at Kenan Memorial Stadium.

North Carolina comes into this game with a perfect 3-0 record, but they haven’t been all that impressive in any of the three games. Two games ago against Appalachian State, they won 63-61, but they were lucky to win, and in the last game against Georiga State they won 35-28. Under center for North Carolina is Drake Maye who completed 19 of his 24 passes for 284 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Running back Omarion Hampton finished with 16 carries for 110 yards and two touchdowns. There were three different players that had at least 60 receiving yards. On defense, North Carolina is giving up 37.67 points per game, and the defense is going to need to be better.

On the other side of this matchup is Notre Dame who sit with a 1-2 record and even in their one win they haven’t been great. In the last game against Cal, they were trailing heading into the 4th quarter, but they scored 10 points, and that was enough to secure the 24-17 victory. Notre Dame is averaging 18.3 points while their defense is giving up 21.3 points per game. The offense is ranked 115th while their defense is ranked 53rd. In the last game quarterback, Drew Pyne completed 17 of his 23 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns. In this game, they are facing a bad defense so it’s going to be important that they get some good quarterback play.
