In NFL spread betting, a +1.5 spread means that a team (the underdog) must lose by fewer than two points or win the game to cover.
For example, if Garrett Wilson and the New York Jets lost a regular-season game to Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers, 21-20, bettors who took the Jets odds of +1.5 would win.
However, if the Packers won 20-17, anyone who bet Bears +1.5 would lose against the spread.
