In February 2024, Harrison Butker set a new record for the longest field goal in Super Bowl history. It was a 57-yard line drive kick during the third quarter of Super Bowl LVIII.

Incredibly, 49ers rookie Jake Moody had already set a new record for longest field goal during the same game. Moody provided the first points of the game when he connected on a 55-yard field goal early in the second quarter.'

Previously, the record for longest field goal in Super Bowl history was held by former Bills kicker Steve Christie, who booted a 54-yarder during Super Bowl XXVIII on Jan. 30, 1994.'
