Dodgers vs. Phillies Player Props & Odds: Expert Picks for Tuesdayiv class=”bodyContent col-lg-9 mb-3″>

It may just be another series in early July, but it will feel like much more than that when the two best teams in the National League meet as the Philadelphia Phillies host the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Phillies are the betting favorites as the home team at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday, with first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m. ET. That means the Dodgers are underdogs for just the sixth time this season, a role in which they've gone 2-3. We have you covered with our Dodgers vs. Phillies player props based on odds from the best sports betting sites.

Philadelphia was rewarded for its NL-best 58-32 record with a franchise record seven players earned All-Star nominations. The Phillies are the fifth-most profitable moneyline team this season, earning their backers +7.3 units.

Los Angeles had lost consecutive series to division rivals, the San Francisco Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks, before bouncing back to win two of three at home against the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers over the weekend. The Phillies are the only NL team the Dodgers have yet to face this season before tonight.

  • Bobby Miller Under 4.5 strikeouts (+116 via FanDuel) ???
  • Zack Wheeler Over 18.5 outs recorded (+150 via bet365) ???
  • Bryson Stott Over 0.5 runs (+135 via bet365) ????

Dodgers vs. Phillies expert picks

Miller is the only pitcher on the Dodgers staff with a negative WAR rating among those who have made three-plus starts this season. He has made a quality start just once in six appearances and has not topped four strikeouts since fanning 11 in his season debut.

Miller now potentially faces a much deeper Phillies lineup with the expected returns of Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper from groin and hamstring injuries, respectively. Prior to those two landing on the IL, the Phillies struck out at the sixth-lowest rate among all NL teams (21.4%).

FanDuel is the only shop offering a standard line of 4.5 strikeouts, as all other competitors have Miller's Under of 5.5 juiced as high as -165. bet365's -170 odds come with a 62.96% implied probability and a $15.88 payout on a winning $10 wager – FanDuel pays $21.60 in comparison.

Best odds: +145 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 46.30%

Wheeler has been a workhorse for the Phillies, averaging a team-high 99.4 pitches per start. Though Philadelphia had an off day Monday, Wheeler still follows Michael Mercado after his second career start Sunday, when he was battered for five runs in just 1 2/3 innings.

Manager Rob Thomson knows how potent L.A.'s offense is and will likely squeeze the most he can out of Wheeler with the less reliable Cristopher Sanchez as tomorrow's scheduled starter. Wheeler should be able to limit his pitch count and pitch into the seventh inning if he can mitigate walks, as he has allowed multiple walks in eight of his last 10 starts.

Our best sports betting apps are similarly aligned with this wager, but the best payout on a winning $10 wager for this Over is at bet365, where bettors would receive $25 for a profit of $15.

Best odds: +150 via bet365 | Implied probability: 40.00%

Stott batted leadoff for the Phillies for the ninth time on Sunday, but he will likely benefit from being moved down in the lineup with Schwarber's return. He's slashed .229/.300/.257 in the leadoff spot this season but has a .333/.488/.433 in his 10 starts in the No. 7 spot and has scored 13 runs in 18 games when he bats sixth.

Considering he is facing Miller, who has pitched to a 9.64 ERA and a .345 OBA in four road starts, there is great value for Stott to cross the plate at least once.

Stott's odds to score a run are as low as +110 at FanDuel (at a 47.62% implied probability), so bet365 would pay out $2.50 more on a winning $10 wager in comparison ($23.50 vs. $21).
