Sam Bennett has quietly and effectively gone about his business since returning to the lineup in Game 3 of the previous series against the Boston Bruins.
Bennett is physically domina ting the Rangers, leading to an uptick in his offensive production. He and teammate Gustav Forsling lead the Panthers with four even-strength points in the series. He's logged at least a point in four of five games against the Rangers, including two goals and an assist in the last two.
The center bossed around Mika Zibanejad before potting the empty-net goal that Game 4, a perfect example of his superior compete level.
He's playing on the second power-play unit and is averaging 18:16 in ice time over the last four games, almost three more minutes than his playoff average. Bennett plays a hard-nosed, highly charged style that aligns well with a potentially series-clinching Game 6.
