MLB Player Props & Expert Picks: Tuesday's Best Prop Bets
MLB Player Props & Expert Picks: Tuesday's Best Prop Betsiv class=”bodyContent col-lg-9 mb-3″>

There are 16 games on Tuesday's docket, thanks to a doubleheader, and we're offering our top MLB player props and expert picks based on the best MLB odds.

We got a great number on Tylor Megill Under 4.5 strikeouts on Monday just for the game to get rained out, and the result is an extra jam-packed 16-game slate on Tuesday.

The day opens with that postponed affair, as the World Series odds favorites, the Los Angeles Dodgers, take on the Mets in New York at 4:10 p.m. ET.

Tuesday's action runs through various time slots, with an AL East battle between the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles highlighting the group of games starting before 7 p.m. ET.

Following that, we have a trio of contests expected to start at 7:40 p.m. ET, and we're targeting a pair of pitchers on Chicago teams. We're looking at props for Chicago Cubs sta rter Ben Brown against the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago White Sox right-hander Mike Clevinger against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Finally, the night concludes with a quarter of West Coast affairs, and we like a strikeout Over in the showdown between the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres, which is expected to begin at 9:40 p.m. ET.

Here are our MLB player props and expert picks for Tuesday (MLB picks based on odds via our
best MLB betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

We get our revenge Tuesday on Mike Clevinger, who burned us in his last start. We took Clevinger's Under 4.5 strikeouts against the Baltimore Orioles, and he recorded his fifth and final punchout on his last out of the game.

Clevinger got knocked around for seven hits and five earned runs over just 4 2/3 innings against the O's, and we expect the Toronto Blue Jays to do a similar level of damage on Tuesday.

Is Toronto finally turning the corner? It's hard to tell, really, as the team is as likely to score 10 runs as it is to score zero on any given night. One thing we do know, though, is that even when the Blue Jays can't hit, they don't often strike out.

Toronto owns the fourth-best strikeout rate in the majors, so taking the walk of shame back to the dugout hasn't been its issue this season.

For his part, Clevinger is projected to record just 3.94 punchouts on Tuesday, nearly a full K below what he'd need to clear this total. Based on that projection, we're getting roughly 23% positive expected value on this bet through these -110 odds.

The rest of our best sports betting sites are hovering around -120 or far shorter, and Pinnacle – which features one of the most respected trading teams in the sports betting industry – has its Under at -156 after opening at -113.

Chicago Cubs right-hander Ben Brown is a talented pitcher, but his biggest issue in this one is likely his pitch-count limitations. Brown made his first start last week since May 2, and he struck out six over only four innings. However, the most telling aspect of that start was that Brown threw only 66 pitches after spending most of the month in the bullpen.

Squaring off against Brown on Tuesday are the Milwaukee Brewers, who are just outside the middle of the pack in terms of strikeout rate. Additionally, the Brewers own the sixth-best walk rate in the league, which could help push Brown's pitch count and get him out of the game early.

Brown is projected to record only 4.68 strikeouts on Tuesday, well below the six he'd need to go Over his total. Based on that projection, we're getting roughly 28% +EV through these -111 odds.

Two of our other best sports betting apps offer competitive -115 prices, while Pinnacle is already at -135. This shows us that FanDuel's odds are perhaps the sharpest of the bunch (there's a first time for everything).

Matt Waldron is one of the most interesting pitchers in all of baseball. He's not actually a “knuckleballer,” but he throws a knuckleball nearly 36% of the time.

The right-hander has been relatively unlucky this season, as his 4.86 ERA is more than a full run higher than his 3.83 xERA. Additionally, he's cranked up his strikeout numbers this season, as he sits at 9.36 per nine compared to just 6.75 last season. His called + swinging-strike rate is up from 24.8% to 27.4%.

Unfortunately for Waldron, the Miami Marlins don't strike out as much as you'd expect for a team as bad as they are. Their 20.8% K rate ranks ninth-best in the majors. However, Waldron has struggled at t imes with walks this season, and the Marlins own the worst walk rate in the majors by a mile. That could help Waldron pitch deeper into this game.

That's reflected in our projections, as Waldron is set at 5.26 punchouts on Tuesday. Based on that projection, we're getting roughly 20% +EV through these even-money odds.

None of our other best sportsbooks are offering even money on this Over, though DraftKings and Caesars have competitive prices. Pinnacle has this Over priced at -123 after opening at -103.
