Seattle has hit 27 home runs over its first 15 games in September while batting just .210. During that stretch, Julio Rodriguez and Eugenio Suarez have homered six times apiece, but Suarez suffered a finger injury last Friday and hit the 10-day IL. Rodriguez has missed the last two games due to a back injury, though he should be ready to play against the Athletics.

Since then, the 29-year-old righty has gone 2-0 in four starts (23.2 innings pitched), surrendering just seven runs (four earned) on 18 hits while striking out 31. Castillo is now 7-5 with a strong 2.68 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 150/39 K/BB ratio in 22 starts (134.1 IP) in 2022.
