The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and Rice Owls face off on Saturday in a Week 3 college football showdown at Rice Stadium.
Rice opened up the season with a 66-14 loss against USC and in the last game against McNeese State, they won 52-10. At halftime, Rice was up 31-0 and they never looked back as they cruised to the victory. TJ McMahon completed 20 of his 29 passes for 274 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Ari Broussard rushed 17 times for 71 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Brad Rozner caught three passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns. In the first game the defense gave up 66 points, and in this game they are going to need to have a lot better defense in this game.
On the other side of this matchup is Louisiana and they currently sit with a 2-0 victory. In the first game against Southeastern Louisiana, they won 24-7 and in the last game against Eastern Michigan, they won 49-21. At halftime they were down 14-0, but in the second half they scored 49 points and that was enough to secure the victory. Under center for Louisiana is Chandler Fields and he completed 10 of his 21 passes for 141 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver John Stephens Jr caught three passes for 103 yards and a touchdown. Michael Jefferson caught five passes for 80 yards and a touchdown.
