Arkansas State at Memphis 9/17/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Arkansas State Red Wolves and Memphis Tigers face off on Saturday in a Week 3 college football showdown at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.

Arkansas State comes into this game sitting with a 1-1 record. In the first game of the season, they beat Grambling State 58-3 and in the last game, they lost to Ohio State 45-12. Under center for Arkansas State is James Blackman and he completed 20 of his 34 passes for 188 yards. The big issue in the last game on offense was they couldn’t get any run game going. The top receiver was Champ Flemings and he had 20 yards. Johnnie Lang had 12 carries but he only had 19 yards. Flemings did have a big game outside catching 10 passes for 105 yards. The defense gave up 45 points, but they did make some stops, and maybe this defense isn’t going to be that bad this season.

On the other side of this matchup is Memphis and they sit with a 1-1 record. Memphis lost to Mississippi State 49-23 in the first game, and in the last game, they beat Navy 37-13. Under center for Memphis is Seth Henigan and he completed 24 of his 34 passes for 415 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Gabriel Rogers caught five passes for 95 yards. In the first game, the defense really struggled against Mississippi State and if they want a chance in this game the defense is going to need to step up in a big way.
