The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and Indiana Hoosiers face off on Saturday in a Week 3 college football showdown at The Rock.
Western Kentucky have come away with wins in each of the first two games of this season. Western Kentucky beat Austin Peay 38-27 in the first game of the season and followed that up with a 49-17 victory over Hawaii. In the last game against Hawaii Austin Reed completed 22 of his 31 passes for 271 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. They use a balanced running attack with three different players rushing for at least 42 yards. Daewood Davis also caught five passes for 78 yards.
On the other side of this matchup is the Indiana Hoosiers and they have won their first two games of the season. Indiana won the first game of the season 23-20 and in the last game, they beat Idaho 35-22. At halftime, Indiana was down 10-0 but in the third quarter they scored 23 points and that was enough to secure the victory. Quarterback Connor Bazelak completed 16 of his 29 passes for 197 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Running back Shaun Shivers also had a big game rushing 20 times for 155 yards and one touchdown. Josh Henderson also had seven carries for 58 yards and a touchdown. The defense for this team has been inconsistent, and they are going to need the defense to be better in this game.
