Maryland is 3-4 on the road this season with wins over Illinois, UCLA and Iowa. But that hasn't moved the needle much for them as they are 79th in the latest NCAA Net Rankings, which is a big indicator of whether they will make the NCAA Tournament. At this point, Maryland is not even on the bubble, but they are getting closer after beating Iowa by two on the road and Nebraska 73-51 at home in their last game on Saturday. In that contest from College Park, Julian Reese had 15 points and 16 boards, while freshman Jamie Kaiser added 14 points off the bench. Kaiser (4 of 5 from 3pt) has had a rough freshman season thus far, averaging just 4.1 points on 25.6% three-point shooting. The Terps had 25 points from the bench after getting just five points a game in their previous five contests. They also outrebounded the Cornhuskers 43-25.

Adding some bench help would be huge for a team that is very dependent on Jahmir Young 9120.4ppg, 4.2apg) and Reese (13.6ppg, 10.1rpg). KenPom is a little kinder to Maryland, ranking them at 52nd overall and sixth in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency. Offensively, they have improved, but they are still shooting just 29.7% from beyond the arc (333rd) and 41.8% from the field (308th). On defense, they are allowing just 63.4 points per game (1th) and 40.4% shooting (36th). The 3-point defense at 34.1% is a bit of a concern though.
