The Jacksonville State Gamecocks are on the road as they take on the UTEP Miners on Thursday night in Conference USA action inside the Don Haskins Center. The Gamecocks (11-10, 3-3 CUSA) are coming off a 73-62 home win on Saturday against the Liberty Flames. The Miners (11-10, 2-4) are on a two-game losing streak after a 60-56 road loss against the Sam Houston Bearkats on Saturday. 



The Jacksonville State Gamecocks are looking to step up and continue winning after a 73-62 home win over the Liberty Flames. The Gamecocks were able to shoot the ball extremely well as they were able to shoot 28-of-45 (62.2%) overall, 5-of-12 (41.7%) from beyond the arc and 19 shots at the charity stripe. Junior forward Marcellus Brigham Jr. stepped up as in 31 minutes he posted 19 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block before fouling out. The defense did a decent job as the Flames had a team shooting split of 41.5/32.1/52.9 in the game. 

The Jacksonville State Gamecocks are looking to be a little better offensively as the team is scoring 70.8 points on 46.8% from the floor. The defense has been playing at a solid level as they are holding the opposi tion to 63.9 points per game thus far.
