The Hampton Pirates are heading to the Corbett Sports Center on Thursday evening to take on the North Carolina A&T Aggies in Coastal Athletic Association action. The Pirates (4-17, 0-9 CAA) are on a massive 12-game losing streak after an 80-74 home loss against the Elon Phoenix on Saturday. The Aggies (6-15, 4-4) are on a two-game losing streak after a 62-47 road loss on Saturday against the Drexel Dragons. 

 

The Hampton Pirates are coming off a tough 80-74 home loss against the Elon Phoenix and it does not help allowing 48 points in the second half of the game. Hampton shot the ball at a decent level as they were able to go 26-of-63 (41.3%) from the floor, 8-of-28 (28.6%) from the three-point line and 16 free-throw opportunities. Senior guard Tedrick Wilcox stepped up as in 26 minutes he recorded 16 points, two rebounds, three assists and three turnovers. The defense struggled as they held the Phoenix to a team shooting split of 44.8/40.0/90.0 in this game. 

 

The offense for the Hampton Pirates has been scoring at a pretty respectable level as they are averaging 76.5 points on 44.6% from the floor. The defense has not done well so far as they are giving up 79.7 points per game.
